SINGAPORE — Wednesday marked the end of the month-long fasting period of Ramadan for Muslims all over the world. Known as Eid al-Fitr or Hari Raya in Southeast Asian countries, Muslims celebrated by opening their homes to friends and families, greeting one another in their finest traditional robes.

In Singapore, the hashtag #EidsTheTakeOver started trending on Twitter after this post from Glowly Suji, which urged fellow Muslims here to stand proud of their heritage and not be affected by the negative opinions of what others had toward them.
